Urban Prankster

German performance artist Johan Lorbeer appeared to be floating in mid-air in a Madrid train station, to the delight of commuters. Apparently his leaning arm is actually fake and is disguising a support structure connected to the wall. He has some photos of similar projects he did in galleries on his site.

Urban Camouflage - Stockholm

Urban Prankster
Urban Prankster covers pranks, hacks, participatory art, flash mobs, and other creative endeavors that take place in public places in cities across the world. It is edited by Charlie Todd.

I will list some things about me (Charlie Todd). I went to high school at Hammond School in Columbia, SC. I went to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). I have lived in New York City since the summer of 2001. I'm a comedian. I teach and perform long-form improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. When I'm not doing that, I'm pulling off huge pranks on the streets of New York. I document them on my website, Improv Everywhere.

Improv Everywhere causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places. Created in August of 2001 by Charlie Todd, Improv Everywhere has executed over 80 missions involving thousands of undercover agents. The group is based in New York City.

The No Pants! Subway Ride
The No Pants! Subway Ride is an annual event staged by Improv Everywhere every January in New York City.
The seventh annual No Pants ride had 900 participants in New York, and another 1,000 or so in 9 additional cities around the world. In New York we had to use three separate train lines to accommodate the crowd. For the first time there were at least as many women as men. Rides took place in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Portland, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Toronto, Washington DC, and even Adelaide, Australia.

Quotes
"I cannot convince myself that a painting is good unless it is popular. If the public dislikes one of my Post covers, I can’t help disliking it myself."

"If a picture wasn't going very well, I'd put a puppy in it."

"I used to sit in the studio with a copy of the Post laid across my knees," Rockwell once wrote. "Must be two million people look at that cover,' I'd say to myself. All looking at that cover. And then I'd conjure up a picture of myself as a famous illustrator, surrounded by admiring females, and being wined and dined by the editor of the Post, Mr. George Horace Lorimer."

"The view of life I communicate in my pictures," Rockwell wrote, "excludes the sordid and ugly. I paint life as I would like it to be."

Mike Adams aka The Health Ranger

Oh Mike, what a large Brumby Pump you have...

One third of Mike's head is better than none

Bio
Mike Adams is no stranger to traditional Western medicine. The son of a Pfizer contractor and a clinical trial tester for some of America's biggest pharmaceutical companies, Mike grew up using prescribed pharmaceuticals, trusting doctors and believing what the FDA reported was safe and in the best interests of the country. All that would change when Mike was faced with his own personal health emergency, and the pillars of medicine he once trusted came crumbling down before him.

Mike began his mission as the Health Ranger as a response to his own failing health. At the age of 30, he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, a disease brought on by poor diet and severe lack of exercise. As a high-powered software executive, extreme levels of stress and cholesterol, depression and chronic back pain were common features of Mike's past.

Searching for answers to his health woes, Mike dove into research; he devoured thousands of books on nutrition, pharmaceutical drugs, wellness programs, the politics of food - anything he could find.

Mike has now made it his life mission to share the most remarkable discovery he made on his quest: the vast majority of all diseases can be easily prevented and even cured without drugs or surgery.

And that’s exactly what Mike did. He cured himself of diabetes in a matter of months and transformed himself into the picture of perfect health in mind, body and spirit.
